China radar-lock on Japan ship 'dangerous': PM Abe
Via spacewar.com
The radar-lock that a Chinese frigate put on a Japanese warship was "dangerous" and "provocative", Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Wednesday, as tensions rose in a territorial row. "It was a dangerous act that could have led to an unpredictable situation," Abe told parliament. "It is extremely regrettable. We strongly ask for their self-restraint in order to avoid an unnecessary escalation." Read MorePanneta Reveals Obama's Actual Response to Benghazi

Two Russian jets 'breach' Japanese airspace, Tokyo scrambles warplanes
Via indiatimes.com
TOKYO: Two Russian fighter jets violated Japanese airspace on Thursday as Tokyo scrambled its own planes in response, the defence ministry said, reportedly the first such incident in five years. The Russian planes were detected off the coast of northernmost Hokkaido island for just over a minute, shortly after Japan's new prime minister said he wants to find a "mutually acceptable solution" to a decades-old territorial row between the countries. Japan's foreign ministry lodged a formal protest over the incursion by a pair of Russian Su-27 fighters at about 3pm local time (0600 GMT). "Today, around 3pm, military fighters belonging to Russian Federation breached our nation's airspace above territorial waters off Hokkaido's Rishiri island," the foreign ministry said. It was the first breach of Japanese airspace by Russia since February 2008, according to Japanese media reports Thursday. The incident came hours after hawkish Japanese premier Shinzo Abe — who swept to power in December with pledges to get tough on diplomacy — offered apparently conciliatory comments toward Moscow over the Russian-administered Southern Kurils, known as the Northern Territories in Japan. A legal group has called for a state investigation into the Planned Parenthood abortion practitioner who killed Tonya Reaves, a 24-year-old black woman, in a failed abortion. Reaves was killed during a botched second-trimester abortion suffered at a Chicago area Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on July 20, 2012. The full autopsy results indicate that Reaves’ injuries were survivable if she had received proper emergency care in a timely manner. It is the official opinion of the Cook County Medical Examiner that Reaves’ cause of death “is due to hemorrhage resulting from cervical dilation and evacuation due to an intrauterine pregnancy.” In plain language, Reaves bled to death as the result of a bungled D&E abortion. The pregnancy itself did not contribute to her death. Read MoreVideo: Obama Gets Schooled By Dr. Benjamin Carson. Make This Go Viral! #Tcot #Tlot #war

President Barack Obama’s new nonprofit Organizing for Action insists that promoting the White House’s legislative agenda can’t be counted as “partisan political activity.” The organization on Wednesday quietly posted new guidelines on its website formally declaring its intention to stay out of campaign politics.“Neither OFA nor its chapters will be involved in any way in elections or partisan political activity,” OFA wrote. “Its exclusive purpose is public policy advocacy and development, and in particular, both enactment of President Obama’s legislative agenda and the identification and advancement of other goals for progressive change at the state and local level. The freshly articulated mission language mirrors that of similarly structured conservative groups that have played heavily in recent elections and have drawn criticism from Obama and his allies for corrupting democracy and abusing the tax code. Housing Market Outlook Not as Cheery as Some Say

The market may be rising, but according to one expert, all is not well on the home front.David Stockman, former director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Reagan administration, insists that the housing market outlook is not as cheery as some say.

Obama: Gun Control Is Not a 'Perfect Solution'
Chicago sacrificing pension funds to push gun control
Urged by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the city of Chicago’s severely underfunded pension funds are divesting their holdings in gun makers to pressure those companies over their stance on gun laws.
The move could deal a hefty blow to the city’s six pension funds, which are only 50 percent funded with combined debt of $26.8 billion. Gun sales have skyrocketed in response to calls for stricter gun control, boosting the companies Chicago is so eager to part with.
Emanuel on Wednesday pressured banks, pension funds and mutual funds across the country to “divest and blacklist” gun Read MoreBig Government Is Coming for Your Retirement Savings
